Project A3 and Project O3 LIMITED EDITION HILTS

NOTE: The main batch of A3 is out of stock - but we have a few "B-Stock" hilts remaining. These are the same as A3 but with more significant flaws (i.e., larger metallization imperfections, larger blemishes, etc), at a discounted price. In fact these are possibly even closer to the original props due to these faults.

Hand-made, prop-accurate, beautifully flawed replicas. These WILL have flaws and imperfections throughout, just as the original props did. Metallization imperfections, surface blemishes, paint flaws, etc. These imperfections may be more pronounced in person than what is readily visible in the images above.

What you see here are our A3 and O3 replicas. These were made via direct study of original hilts used in the production of Episode III. They are made of resin and Delrin bodies, aluminum cores, and assemble via a threaded bolt, just as the original props did. Each hilt comes with a Nova Carbon Blade to complete the replica. A3 hilts come with a RED-ORANGE blade, and O3 hilts come with a FLUO GREEN blade.

To me, the stunt hilts represent what a "real" Jedi would use. Consider the A3 or "skinnyflex" design - we start with the well-loved Graflex handle, then eliminate everything that was impractical about it from a functional perspective. No sharp bits to hurt your hand, no greeblies to get in the way of your hand, reduced overall diameter, elegantly-small lower grips, and a perfectly-sized choke point for swinging.

Getting the details right on these sabers was always a challenge. There have been very few good images of the hilt floating around, and there are vanishingly few examples of the prop in private hands. But we were very lucky to gain access to original, screen-used props, from which to replicate each design to perfection.

These are resin replicas, with a mirrored vacuum-metalized coating just like the originals! Inside the resin components are internal aluminum cores, threaded and assembled exactly like the originals. Each hilt comes complete with one of our Nova Carbon blade replicas made of genuine carbon-fiber blade and assembled with a custom M10 pushrod.

Each hilt disassembles into the exact same subcomponents as the original prop. In fact, if you had an original prop on hand, you could swap out any and every component of these replicas and use them on an original saber assembly. Please note, due to the nature of the construction, these replicas DO NOT have the uniform perfection of CNC-machined parts. Just as with the original props, these are imperfect, and may have minor cosmetic or geometric inconsistencies. In my opinion, that's part of what makes them so beautiful.

Because of the extensive manual labor required, and all the little custom bits needed, this run is limited to just a few pieces, and NO RETURNS ACCEPTED.

NOTE: these replicas are NOT suitable for dueling. The production hilts were made of a resin built for impact but not for dimensional accuracy. These replicas are made of a resin which offers high dimensional accuracy and detail, but is more brittle and could shatter with a high impact. Moreover, on the set of a movie the props department keeps several dozen hilts at the ready to replace anything broken. That's not the case when you buy just one replica hilt.
